WSC
Legacy U18 Super Y teams wins 2-1 on Friday. Will play in the
quarterfinals on Saturday morning against the Syracuse Salty Dogs.
As
many of you may already know (news travels fast) the Williamsburg Legacy
prevailed again in this afternoon's game against Ajax Orlando.
They won 2-1 and will be playing in the quarter-finals tomorrow morning
at 8:00 a.m. against the Syracuse Salty Dogs. Andrew Hoxie made the
first goal in the 32nd minute and Brandon Young scored in the 62nd
minute on a direct kick that started with Mike Krewinghaus, followed by
a cross from Andrew Hoxie to Brandon Young. That second goal was
answered shortly after in the 67th minute by Ajax. In other news, Dennis
said they were planning on heading into downtown Chicago for supper. All
continue to be healthy and injury-free - - and very happy to have come
this far! We wish them the best for tomorrow morning's game!
WSC Legacy U18 Super Y team seeded
6th out of 11 after first two preliminary games. Legacy
goes 1-1 in first two games and will take on 11th Seed Ajax from
Orlando, FL in the first game of the knockout phase on Friday afternoon.
In the days first game the Legacy were
defeated 4-1 by the Ottawa Fury from Canada. In their second game the Legacy defeated
the Chesapeake Dragons from Maryland 1-0 on a 20th minute goal by Teddy
Berry.
Williamsburg Legacy U18 to Participate in
National Championships.
The Williamsburg Soccer Club is proud to
announce that the Williamsburg Legacy U-19 Boys Super Youth League team
has qualified for the 2004 North American Finals to be held in held
in Chicago, Illinois from August 5th to 8th. The Williamsburg
Legacy qualified by placing first in the South Atlantic division that
includes teams from Richmond, VA, Raleigh, NC, Aiken, SC, Atlanta, GA,
Wilmington, NC and Charlotte, NC.
The Super Youth League is an Elite Youth
Soccer League for top youth soccer players across North America.
The Williamsburg Legacy will be one of twelve teams competing for
the North American Super Youth Championship against teams from the
USA and Canada. This elite Championship is highly scouted by
College coaches.
The Super Youth League North American
Finals is a sanctioned Olympic Developmental Program (ODP) of the United
States Soccer Federation for identifying players for the US National
Team Programs. During the finals players will be scouted by
US National team Staff Coaches.
