Will
play there this coming fall
David
“Chewy” Giunti of the U18 ’87 Williamsburg Wizards last
week agreed to play at
Methodist
College
in
Fayetteville
,
North Carolina
. Chewy will join former Wizards teammate Jamie Gunderson at
Methodist this upcoming fall. “I started playing for the
Williamsburg Soccer Club (WSC) when I was a U-16. The last three
years in the club have helped me become a stronger, more
confident player and I only have the coaches to thank for that.
I would like to thank Richard Butler, Johnny Kamara,
and Chris Norris for taking their time to better develop me as a
player. I know their teachings will benefit me as I take the
next step in my soccer career”, he said.
Giunti
will play head coach Justin Terranova.
Terranova, a Methodist graduate, was
7-12-1
in 2005 and has a 39-32-5 record overall. The Monarchs play in
the USA South Atlantic Conference and are a NCAA Division Three
school. “Chewy has been a great lad to be around for the past
three years. I believe that he will flourish at this level of
soccer especially considering he has the ability to score goals
from his center forward position. It will be nice for him to
partner up with Jamie down at Methodist and probably will ease
the transition for him to the next level. I’m looking forward
to seeing him play when they come up here to CNU”, commented
Richard Butler, Director of Coaching.
