Club Champions League College Showcase Event A Huge Success

Boys U16, 17 and 18 teams competed, 45 college coaches in attendance
On
Saturday December 3 and Sunday December 4, 2005, the Virginia Club
Champions League (VCCL) College Showcase, a showcase of top-level soccer
teams for college coaches, took place. Held at the Warhill Sports
Complex, in Williamsburg, Virginia, the event was a venue for showcasing
the top players and teams from the VCCL in the U16, U17 and U18/19 age
groups. The VCCL is made up of nine very competitive clubs from across
the state. Beach FC, FC Richmond, Reston FC, Richmond Kickers, Richmond
Strikers, Roanoke Star, SOCA, Virginia Rush and the Williamsburg Soccer
Club constitute the VCCL which was established in 1997. The Showcase is
hosted by the Williamsburg Soccer Club.
Each
team from the VCCL played one 90 minute game against competition from
outside the VCCL on each day. The WSC teams fared well in some very even
