To
all players and parents:
As
many of you may know we have been constantly trying to maintain and get
the Dozier Elementary School site in good shape so that we can continue
use it as one of our main training sites for years to come. Two years
ago through an agreement between the Newport News Parks and Recreation
Department and the Williamsburg Soccer Club lights were installed and we
pledged to have the field turf upgraded and maintained on a regular
basis. With the help of WSC parents and players and Grass Roots of
Virginia the project is moving along.
There
are a few things still missing at Dozier at the moment. This is where I
hope that players, coaches and parents of the Williamsburg Soccer Club
can help out again. The facility once again needs to be cleaned up so
that it can be a soccer site that we are all proud of. This year for
instance, leaves need to be raked/blown away, tall grass around the
fields need to be weed-whacked away and good lines painted again on the
fields. I am planning on having a work day, much like last year, at
Dozier on Friday September 17 from 4pm to get the site in good shape. I
expect everything to take a couple of hours. I would like to get as many
people as I can and make this a real club effort. Last year we had over
30 people helping out and we managed to complete everything within a
couple of hours. If you can help out please reply by email to Tracy at
the WSC office at ttrueblood@widomaker.com
or call her at 757-220-3794. If you could also indicate whether you can
bring any of the items listed it would help.
