U14 '90 Williamsburg Wizards To Play In Virginia Sate Cup Final Four

 

The U14 '90 Williamsburg Wizards will face Gunston Team America Premier in the Virginia State Cup Final Four on Saturday June 4th. The finals are scheduled for Sunday June 5th. All games are to be played at the Hampton Roads Soccerplex in Virginia Beach.

 

The Wizards have advanced through three rounds of play. In the first round they were victorious with a 6-0 win over Beach FC Wanderers. In the second round they defeated the Stafford Stingrays 2-0 and in the quarterfinals they won against SOCA from Charlottesville 3-2 after going into double overtime. The team is coached by Chuck Connelly who is also the men's assistant coach at the College of William and Mary. Connelly said, "The team has worked tremendously hard to get to this point in the State Cup.  This is an exciting time for the boys and the club.  All 17 of the guys have dedicated their time and hard work to get as far as they have.  It is an honor to be at this point and you never know if you will get back.  All of the remaining teams are great and it is going to take an awesome effort from our boys who are definitely up for the challenge." The other semi final will be between the Springfield Fire and Richmond Strikers Orange.
