17 Williamsburg Soccer Club Teams Travel to Chesterfield Icebreaker Tournament

4 teams get in the finals

 

17 Williamsburg Soccer Club teams traveled to Richmond, Virginia this past weekend to compete in the Chesterfield Icebreaker Tournament. With the weather fluctuating between freezing and shorts and t-shirt weather the teams in general played well over the course of the weekend. The U15 Phoenix girls went all the way to the finals before succumbing to a strong Mass Stars team from Massachusetts. On the boys side the U15 Wizards and United teams made the semi finals before falling in tough games. Three boys teams went all the way to the finals. The U10 Wizards ended up losing to a rejuvenated Richmond Kickers White team 5-0 after tying with them in pool play and the U18 United team fell 3-0 in the final too. However, the U18 Wizards finished off the tournament in style winning 2-1 against SAC of Columbia, Maryland through a 73rd minute goal from the William and Mary bound Andrew Hoxie.
