WSC Phoenix U12 Wins 2005 Hampton Roads Indoor Championships.

 

The Williamsburg Soccer Club U12 Phoenix entered two teams into the Hampton Roads Indoor Championships, hosted by Newport News FC.  Both teams were short of some strong players out with the flu bug, but those playing really stepped up and played some great soccer with the help of two guest players (thanks Marisa and Maddy).  The teams played a 4-team round robin format, with the top two teams going on to the finals.  The WSC White team tallied draws against the NNFC (1-1) and WSC Green (3-3), and a lost to the Old Dominion Soccer Club (ODSC) Bengals (1-6).  The WSC Green team reached the finals with draws against ODSC (3-3) and WSC White (3-3), and a win against NNFC (4-0). 

 

In the finals, WSC Green Team faced the ODSC Bengals again and came out fired up, going up 4-0 before finishing up the match with a 6-2 win.  Some girls tallied their first indoor goals and everyone contributed; including goals from Chelsea Wolfe, Brittany Stereck, Kaylee Copeman, Kaitlynn Gannon, Caitlin McNitt, Sherlanda Buskey, Erin Giblin, and Julia Roithmayr. 

 

The WSC U-12 Phoenix are coached by Tom Finley and assisted by Mike Giblin.  Team members are Mary Arczynski, Meredith Baldasare, Jessica Bluesiewicz, Sherlanda Buskey, Kaylee Copeman, Kaitlynn Gannon, Erin Giblin, Taylor Green, Susan Heyman, Caitlin McNitt, Meredith Napoleon, Kelsey Pherson, Julia Roithmayr, Brittany Stereck, and Chelsea Wolfe.
